Illinois Tech’s B.S. in Construction Management and Architectural Technology combines the strengths of our architecture and engineering schools in one degree program. Designed for students who want to lead and manage projects in the AEC industry who don’t want to pursue licensure as an engineer or architect, this STEM-designated program pairs design thinking with technology-forward construction management skills that employers are actively seeking.
Program Overview
In our construction management and architectural technology bachelor’s degree program, you’ll build fluency in building design principles, construction methods, project scheduling, cost control, and emerging technologies such as building information modeling (BIM) and digital modeling, graduating ready for in-demand roles across the AEC industry. The program also provides a direct pathway to Illinois Tech's Master of Science in Construction Engineering and Management and preparation for professional certifications including CMAA, AACE, LEED, and Autodesk.

ARCH 113 Architecture Studio I: Elements You’ll gain studio experience in a world-renowned architecture school, exploring the relationship between people and the built environment and gaining a foundation in architectural design principles and architectural technology.
ARCH 413 Architectural Practice You will learn to practically manage and coordinate architectural projects, including learning how to deal with specifications, specification writing, administration of construction, contracts, building law, and professional practice.
CAE 470 Construction Methods and Cost Estimating In this course, you’ll learn about the role of estimating in construction contract administration, including preparing bids for a real building project using both manual and industry-standard software-based methods.
