Congratulations! We can't wait to welcome you to Illinois Tech's campus!
Please be sure to review the below checklist and complete each of these important activities before you arrive on campus.
IMMEDIATELY:
- Check out the Illinois Tech Portal
- Login to your Hawk email
- Submit your official, final transcripts, including spring 2026 semester (if taken). Note: This is for transfer international students only.
- Submit your I-20 Request Form on the Application Status Page
- Complete the interactive Pre-Arrival Module
- Register for SOAR: New Student Orientation and upload your HawkCard ID photo
- Complete the necessary academic placement assessments (required only for selected majors)
APRIL–MAY:
- Schedule your visa appointment and email your counselor the appointment details
- Schedule your initial advising appointment with your adviser, and register for courses
- Submit your Housing and Food Contract or Housing Waiver Application
JUNE–JULY:
- Attend SOAR: New Student Orientation on June 11-12 or June 25-26
- Pick up HawkCard ID and opt into the U-Pass program when you arrive to campus
- Submit health and immunization forms in Med + Proctor
- Waive Illinois Tech health insurance, if applicable
AUGUST:
- Sign up for IIT Alert and access your student bill on the Illinois Tech Portal
- Move-in to on-campus housing on Sunday, August 9, 2026
- Attend SOAR: New Student Orientation on August 10-11 (if not attending SOAR in June)
- Check-in virtually with the Office of Global Services within 24 hours upon your arrival to Chicago via the ISSS Portal
- Attend Welcome Week starting August 10, 2026
- Pick up U-Pass on campus (if opted in)
